Paleo What?

Starting an OBS (on line Bible Study) tomorrow, Made To Crave. It about craving God instead of food to fill the void in our lives.

In reading some post about where many of us find  healthy eating recipes, I saw a lot of mention of the Paleo Diet. I had heard the term before and goggled it. Eat like a caveman? How in tarnation does anyone know how a caveman eats? Scientists still have not proved evolution!

I am a creationist. I believe God created mankind and placed him in a garden (Genesis 1-3). They ate of the fruits of the garden before the fall. Now I am a meat eater. I love a good juicy hamburger, chicken fingers, ham and my favorite bacon! I have lost weight before on a modified high protein diet (just no white stuff).

No grains? That goes against every food pyramid I have ever seen. Now I know processed foods are not good for us. White flour is not healthy. Whole grains not healthy? That's a whole new thought. The world in the days of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob ate grains. Joseph stored up grains in Egypt to preserve life (Genesis 41:35). Bread was so essential to life Jesus referred to Himself as the Bread of Life as a way for us to understand our need of Him.

The Paleo Diet pyramid shows meat being what we should consume the most. The FDA Food pyramid has grains in that place. I really don't think either of them belong there. Vegetables and fruits should make  up the majority of our diet with meats and grains eaten in moderation.

Unfortunately for me, I don't always follow what I know about food, thus the reason for this new Bible Study.  But they are  my favs! Meat and bread!
