even know where to begin. Max and Jessica Barroso are wonderful young people.
And the team they brought with them is amazing! I wish I had half their energy!
We have so much to learn. The language is the biggest barrier to me so far.
I do not like not being able to communicate. Have to work on my Rosetta Stone.
It is French not Kreole but I have noticed that some of the words I am hearing
I have learned from the Rosetta. So I will learn French and Kreole. Please help
me to learn quickly Lord.
It is hot here. Today has been the hottest so far. Not too humid yet. And so
very dry! I remember Larisa Ackerman mentioning the red dust of Sudan, well
here it is white dust and it covers every thing.
I think Roger's biggest frustration so far is the internet. None in the day
unless city power is on and at night my computer does not always work (tonight
is an exception, praise God!). I told him he should have brought his. However,
my IPOD works very well which is how I have been able to keep in touch with the
world outside of Haiti.
The Sunday morning service, our first here, we were introduced to the
congregation as the new missionaries to Haiti. It was interesting. The morning
service is very traditional. Sunday night there seemed to be more freedom in
worship but at both services these people know how to pray!!! And pray and
pray!
I know I promised more details once we were here. And those will come. Right
now I am just soaking everything in and giving God praise for the souls that
have come to Christ through the obedience of the Awakening team. It really has
been an awesome week.
