Well, 2011 will be over in a few hours. What a year! It has been so different from anything I have ever experienced before. I know these events will never be repeated.
Roger and I have adjusted to being together 24/7. After 26 years of marriage with me working outside of the home, it was an adjustment for BOTH of us. There were times I just wanted him to go away for a few hours and he wanted me to go away for longer. Fortunately those times are not frequent anymore.
We have also experienced Roger's attacks of kidney stones which he has not had to endure for years until last year. I give thanks to God that He showed me the problem there (Roger was drinking tea again. He did think anything about it because it was green tea not the sweet tea he had to give up long ago.) He has stopped the ALL tea of any kind and the attacks have gone.
We have traveled more than we ever dreamed we would. We have been to South Africa, Swaziland, Haiti, Alabama, Mississippi and back to Alabama. We have lived in a cabin, a dorm, a two bedroom second story apartment and a 29 foot 5th wheel camper. We have seen a family in Swaziland that walked through the bush 2 hours one way to get to church, an elderly Haitian woman accept Christ as her Savior along with many others there who came to know Christ. We have seen teams give of their time and energy to serve Jesus and others that were in need. We have seen our Haitian church in Bon Repo dedicate a new building to God and our church in Cabaret celebrate a 25th anniversary of existence with a packed out building..
I can't wait to see what 2012 holds! So as this adventure comes to a close I felt it was only fitting to give this blog a new name and a new look. The adventure has become a journey. Our journey will take us where our Lord Jesus opens the doors. It will allow us to make connections with others who desire to live a life of service and giving to the work of Christ. And I pray that this year will quickly take us back to Haiti.
