SOM AND OTHER THINGS

Tomorrow Roger and I are leaving for Ridgecrest, NC . We will be joining other IPHC missionaries, missionary candidates, conference mission directors, local church mission directors and many others for a week of training, fellowship and celebration of our Lord. I am very excited about seeing many old friends and making some new ones.

When we return home, we will have about a month here and then we will be returning to Haiti for about 10 days! I cannot wait! We are joining the Alpha and Mississippi conferences on a short term mission trip there. We will be going to an area called Saint Marc. I have only been there once for a few hours when I was in Haiti last year. Roger has never been there. We will be doing construction on a house, a kitchen for the school there and also being conducting a medical clinic for the community. I am excited about what the Lord will do on this trip.

I am going back to Hematology Oncology Associates of Alabama in a flexi position. I am really looking forward to doing this. I have missed working as a nurse in the oncology field. I really do miss my patients! Oncology patients have taught me so much about living and what is important in life. This will help keep my skills up while here in the states and bring some extra income as well. And I won't be even part time, I love it! I don't have to work there unless I want to!

We are still trying to connect with pastors and churches to build our partnership base. Fund raising has never been something I enjoyed but I am really leaving it in God's hands. We will be in Haiti full time when He wants us there and I am not going to worry about it. But I realize I still have to do my part and that means making contacts, phone calls, travelling and getting out of MY comfort zone to talk to people. Roger really has no problem with this. I do. I am an introvert by nature and it has been difficult for me to purposefully approach people. God is still working on me.

I will be posting more often than I have in the past. But enough for now. I must finish packing.
